CPAPAuction.com CPAP Buyers Guide

Why Are We Here?

CPAPAuction was designed as a marketplace for low price CPAP equipment, both new and used. Our sellers are CPAP users who have updated their equipment and have CPAP machines to sell as well as drawers full of CPAP masks and other devices that just didn't work out. We also have dealers who are better able to manage their inventory with us; perhaps they had to buy too many of one model mask or machine to get the best price from their sales rep, they may have many different items that were tried out on a patient but didn't fit, or rental machines that were replaced with purchased ones. For many different reasons, new and used CPAP equipment is out there and CPAPAuction makes it available at a great price

Thousands of people know that CPAPAuction is the place to go for bargains! Our website is active and growing.

Who To Buy From - Safely!

Probably the most important safety consideration is the seller. You want to buy from safe and reliable sellers and our feedback system is the best way to find them. Feedback is a positive, neutral or negative comment left by an auction partner after the transaction is completed to describe the auction experience. The percentage of positive and negative entries gives an overall rating for the seller.

To help you find sellers with the best ratings, CPAPAuction has a list of Top Sellers published on our home page. Top Sellers have at least 25 feedback entries with a resulting rating of 95% or better.

Another aspect of choosing a seller is the payment method. PayPal and credit cards are the safest methods to use, so sellers who accept those methods are better choices. But when you pay through PayPal, be sure your account pays with a credit card rather than through your debit card or bank account. If not, you will have no means to recover your payment if the seller takes your payment but fails to deliver your item.

On CPAPAuction, we require new sellers with less than five positive feedback entries to accept PayPal or credit cards for payment. They may not require cash payments such as money orders and cashier checks. This requirement helps protect you and is posted on the listing page of the sellers to whom it applies.

If you have any questions for a seller, an email link is available on the listing page. Don't hesitate to use it.

What's a Good Price?

On masks and other supplies, the condition - either new or used - is the biggest factor in price, but compare shipping costs on all items as well.

On new machines, if you are interested in the two-year warranty coverage, you should buy from sellers who can provide it, such as DME dealers. Check the law in your state to see if you have additional rights. If you are considering a used machine, look at the number of hours recorded. If a CPAP machine is used 7 hours a night, it is used an average of 215 hours per month or 2500 hours per year. Three to five years is a great life for a machine, so you probably won't get much more than that. If the listing page doesn't mention the hours, contact the seller and ask.

We save closed auctions so that you can review the final bids on items and see what people have paid for them. Simply search for a particular item in the search window at the top right corner of the screen, then refine your search with the drop-down options at the top of the results. The last category on the right is Auction Status. You may select Open Auctions, Closed Auctions, or All Auctions.

A Word About Bidding.....

Bidding is all based on the highest amount you are willing to pay for an item. Our maximum bid system places bids for you once you set that highest amount, and you may increase it at any time during the auction. The system will never bid more than necessary to win the auction for you by $.50 over the last bid.

Those Pesky Prescriptions!

Machines of all types - CPAP and BiPAP, standard and auto, concentrators and oximeters- require prescriptions, but all other CPAP supplies and equipment, even heated humidifiers, do not need prescriptions. The prescriptions must be worded to match the machine being bid on and we have extensive information about that in our FAQ section. Just click on the Questions tab and go to the Prescription section. There is also information on how to get your prescription to us.

Are You Safe?

Our family of CPAP websites has been on the internet since 1999 and we know the precautions to take to keep your information as safe as possible. We use HACKER SAFE and VERISIGN to protect visitors, two very highly rated companies in the field of internet security. You can click on their icons on our site to find out more about them.
